TIM DOG (RIP)

Tim Dog died today after suffering a seizure believed to be related to his battle with diabetes. He was 46. Tim came to prominence in the early 90′s with his single “Fuck Compton,” an angry response to the growing dominance of West Coast hip-hop taken from his debut album, 1991′s Penicillin On Wax. The song took shots at the members of NWA, and even elicited a response from Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg on the song “Dre Day.” “Fuck Compton” is regularly included on lists of the greatest diss records of all time.

Common Feat. J. Period - The Next Chapter (Still Love H.E.R.)

Common gives us a sequel to his Resurrection classic, “I Used To Love H.E.R.”. Produced by J.Period for his new mixtape, The Rage Is Back, this new chapter in Lonnie’s love/hate saga with Rap sets itself apart from the original with a more up tempo, string heavy beat. I’m not mad at this.
