The Beatnuts Review......from Chicago
Went to the BeaTnuts Concert Sunday @ The Metro with The Connie Price & The keystones. I went with my Homeboy Spider (Shout-Out!) to the concert and let me tell ya "It was Fcukin' Cold"..Finding parking over on the Northside is like a Chess Match "u always have to be 1 step ahead"..Beatnuts performed @ Midnight exactly and turn it out..What was amazing was how they were a perfect match with the Connie Price Band and just goin' at it..I recorded the concert on my new BlackBerry Storm (Sorry For the Video being kind of Weak...I'm Gettin' Better!) and this was the 1st of many to come as far as different concerts in Chicago. It was a definite good night and just for the concert being FREE! was worth it...Enjoy...Till Next Time..

Quasimoto x KidRobot Doll...
Kid Robot and Stones Throw have teamed up for the Quasimoto figure, which will be released February 19, 2009. The Quasimoto figure is 8-inches tall, available in equal quantities of yellow and blue, each with a brick and spliff “cigarette.”
The hip-hop artist Quasimoto (aka Lord Quas) was created by Madlib. He has released two albums, The Unseen and The Further Adventures of Lord Quas, a collection of singles, and guest appearances on albums by Madvillain and Jaylib. The Quasimoto figure is based on the character drawn by Jeff Jank. (Read: History of Lord Quas )
Kid Robot and Stones Throw released a Madvillain figure in January 2007, which sold out in a matter of hours. A limited number of the Quasimoto figure are available via pre-sale at Stones Throw's online store, and will be sold at Kid Robot stores and the locations listed below.

DMS x Frank151 x New Era Cap...
The FRANK151 DMS issue gave an unprecedented look into the hardcore New York scene. Part of the special issue about the legendary DMS crew is this limited edition collaboration NEW ERA 59Fifty fitted cap. Done up in stark Tonal Black, the cap features a Gothic “F” embroidered on the front and the FRANK logo on the back. “Devotion measures strength” is embroidered in Metallic Silver on the underbill in the unique handstyle of artist Norm of MSK and DMS fam. Designer Music is an exclusive, limited line produced by ELMCOMPANY in collaboration with Chace Infinite of Self Scientific and designer Kevin Sanchez. OL SCHOOL WEDS.--Company Flow
Company Flow was one of the 1st groups to start doing' the independent route. They were the offspring of Public Enemy and the whole 80's Movement. Consisting of EL-p, Big Jus, and Mr. Len just brought that ol gutter style of Hip Hop. Only Came out with 2 Albums (FunCrusher Plus and Little Johnnie from the Hospital) and both were critically acclaimed LP's. Soon they went there own ways: EL-P (Def Jux), Mr. Len (Dummy Smacks), & Big Jus (Ninja Tune)..Anyways i thought i bring to you guys something to study and Enjoy....

MADLIB's DILLA Tribute BeatConducta Vol 5-6..to be released on Feb 10th
When Madlib followed J Dilla’s now-classic Donuts with an instrumental concept-album of his own, a series was born. “Beat Konducta,” the alias he often scribbled on the beat CDs he handed to friends and potential collaborators, left the realm of the unknown and entered the record-buying public’s conscious as Madlib’s latest nom de plume. His unedited CDs often wove quirky narratives, served as obsessive listening material to those lucky enough to hear them, and became raw working material for Madvillain, Jaylib, Ghostface, De La Soul, Talib Kweli and Erykah Badu.
The concept of the Beat Konducta series was simple: put Madlib’s raw beat tapes into album form – one by one on vinyl, with two volumes at a time appearing on sporadically released CDs.
The first two volumes of Beat Konducta, Movie Scenes, were a soundtrack to a movie that existed only in Madlib’s mind. It’s score ranged from Blaxploitation soul to African-psychedelia, from Tropicalia to moody progressive rock. The second installment took its listeners on a tour of Bollywood, circa 1975. Beat Konducta In India paid sincere tribute to musical giants largely unheard of by Western ears. And kept the funk levels up all the way.
Beat Konducta Vol. 5-6: A Tribute to... is a 42-track piece dedicated to the late J Dilla. Madlib and J. Rocc – arguably Dilla’s closest musical compatriots during his time spent in Los Angeles – lovingly remember their friend and reflect on his boundless influence. As was the case with Donuts and in keeping with the Beat Konducta’s all-embracing musical bent, this album does not settle into one groove for too long. The result is a transfixing, sometimes jarring, and always soulful homage to the man Madlib crowned “King Of The Beats.”

Under the Influence: The Offical Tribute to Beastie Boys Exhibition
An homage to one of hip-hop’s greatest groups, Under The Influence: The Official Tribute to Beastie Boys will open up at Gallery1988 on Thursday, January 8th. A number of artists were commissioned to put their creativity to work to create artwork which reference and pay respect to the influential group. The list includes The Silent Giants, MCA, Ryan Tan and Eric Hungerford among others. Prints and posters will be on hand for sale on opening night with full signatures from all the participating artists.
