OL SCHOOL WEDS. Video---ED O.G.

In 1991, Edo G released his first album with his then-group Da Bulldogs, entitled "Life of a Kid in the Ghetto." The album included the song "Be a Father to Your Child", which received air-play on local Boston radio stations and "I Got To Have It," which was sampled later by Mary J. Blige on the track "Ooh". The group was dropped from Mercury Records in 1993.

Edo G has since gone on to release four LPs and two EPs, toured around the world and worked with other artists including Pete Rock, DJ Premier, RZA, KRS-One, Common, Black Thought of The Roots, and Masta Ace, among others.

Although not nationally known, he has a cult following in Boston and an international fanbase. On his solo album The Truth Hurts (as Edo G), he linked up with DJ Premier and Pete Rock; "Wishful Thinking" is the direct sequel of his first solo record but it was largely overlooked despite that is a good album; the latter connection turned into a partnership for the largely Pete-produced record My Own Worst Enemy. One of the album's songs, "Wishing" (featuring Masta Ace), was featured on The Boondocks in episode 9, Return of the King.

In 2005, he started a group called "Special Teamz" with fellow Boston rappers Jaysaun (of Kreators) and Slaine (of La Coka Nostra). They released a mixtape on November 11, 2005 entitled "The Mixtape." Special Teamz released an album, Stereotypez, on September 25, 2007, featuring production from Pete Rock and DJ Premier as well as Marco Polo, previous collaborator Jake One, and Ill Bill; appearances included Buckshot and Sean Price of the Boot Camp Click, Ill Bill, Akrobtik, and Devin the Dude.

Edo G was working on a new album with Masta Ace. The first single, entitled "Little Young", can be heard on his official Myspace page. The album was scheduled for release in October 2009, but the release has been delayed by a Cease & Desist order from A&E television which requires a complete revision of the album cover artwork and design......ENJOY!!!

OL SCHOOL WEDS. Video----STEADY B

Steady B, along with Schoolly D, the Fresh Prince, and Three Times Dope, was one of the first wave of Philadelphia-area rappers to gain notoriety in the mid to late 1980s. Steady B's musical career was relatively short-lived, and he is currently serving a life sentence in a Pennsylvania state prison for his role in the murder of a Philadelphia Police officer during a botched bank robbery in January, 1996. With an appealing blend of battle raps (most notably against LL Cool J, and local Philadelphia rap rivals Three Times Dope and the Fresh Prince) and freestyle lyrics, Steady B's style reflected the post-Run-D.M.C./pre-Public Enemy era of hip-hop. At his best, Steady mixed well-written metaphors and wordplay with sparse, yet catchy, drum tracks. Steady B released five albums over the course of his career, with mixed success. Steady B was arrested at his apartment shortly after the bank robbery. Two handguns left at the scene by Cool C and Canty, including the murder weapon, were traced back to Steady, and he eventually confessed his role in the crimes to police during interrogation.

At his trial, the State presented evidence, including testimony from Steady's wife, that Steady B, Cool C, and Canty met at Steady's apartment shortly after the robbery, where they watched media coverage of the event on television, and discussed their escape. Incriminating statements by Canty were also admitted into evidence at Steady's trial.

On October 30, 1996, Steady was convicted of the second degree murder of Officer Vaird. On December 13, 1996, Steady B was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole....ENJOY THE GLAMEROUS LIFE!

Mr. Cartoon x NIKE Sports Tee

With an unique panache, Nike Sportswear’s Six (6) Collaboration Project allows fans from 6 nations to cheer on their home teams as preparation gets underway for 2010 FIFA World Cup. Each of the offerings will be an alternative off the field kit for players from USA, England, Brazil, France, Netherlands, and the World Cup host nation of South Africa. As with any collaboration, Nike commissioned a local artisan for each region as a method to better highlight the contemporary culture of the nation through artistic expression. This include tattoo virtuoso, Mister Cartoon.

In the form of might and witty amusement, the Los Angeles base artist selected the national symbol of pride, the bald eagle, as the representation for his collaboration. Done in the now familiar black ink silhouette, the brisk-looking bird of prey emanates a curious mix of killer instinct and jovialness. Talons extended, at the ready, 13-star halo crowned the beast signify the original 13 colonies in the founding of the nation.

The Nike Sportswear x Mister Cartoon - CO-LAB T-Shirt for USA is now available at http://Niketown.com

OL SCHOOL WEDS. Video-------KING TEE (Likwit Crew)

Tee had been around the Los Angeles hip hop scene for many years alongside Ice T and Kid Frost and acted as a pioneer for the genre. In 1988 he made his debut with Act a Fool, considered a classic amongst west coast fans.

During his time with Capitol, Tee began mentoring a young trio of rappers called Tha Alkaholiks, or "Tha Liks," as well as their loosely affiliated collective called the Likwit Crew. The Likwits included Xzibit, who would later rise to fame and bring king Tee close to Compton producer Dr. Dre. Tha Liks put out their debut album under King Tee's guidance on Loud Records in 1993. Tee greatly influenced The Notorious B.I.G. with his deep voice, flow and rhyme style, which Big would at times imitate on his 1994 album Ready to Die. Tee later paid homage to Biggie on the track "6 In'a Moe'nin" on his album Thy Kingdom Come, using a similar setup to and vocal samples of Biggie's track "Somebody's Got to Die." Recently, Ice T confirmed in an interview that King Tee was B.I.G's favorite MC.

After 1994's Tha Triflin' Album, on which Tee worked with Marley Marl, he left Capitol for MCA and put out IV Life in 1995. After leaving MCA as well, he built with Dr. Dre and ended up signing to the producer's label, Aftermath Entertainment. However, Tee only released three songs while on the label, "Str8 Gone" and "Fame" which appeared on Dr. Dre Presents the Aftermath and "Some L.A. Niggaz" which appeared on 2001; the two began recording for King Tee's Aftermath album, but the project was subject to repeated push-backs. Eventually, King Tee requested a release from the label.

In 2002, King Tee independently released his Aftermath album, Thy Kingdom Come. He also released The Ruthless Chronicles in 2004, which had songwriting by Tee's protégé Young Maylay and featured some of the songs seen on Thy Kingdom Come and others produced by DJ Quik. In the interim, Tee has guested on DJ Muggs' Soul Assassins II album. He was mentioned on Nas' song "Where Are They Now?" and appeared on the West Coast remix, along with Kam and Ice-T and other California artists Breeze, Candyman, Threat, Sir Mix-A-Lot and The Conscious Daughters. After this appearance, he put out a mixtape called Boss Up Vol. 1 with music by Snoop Dogg, The Game, J-Ro and several other West Coast artists. In 2006 he made a guest appearance on the song "Poppin' Off" from Xzibit's album Full Circle. He has also reportedly started his own label, though no artists are yet signed to it. A remix of the song Money has appeared on Dr. Dre's son Hood Surgeon's The Autopsy Mixtape. The song was renamed "Fast Money" and features King Tee and Dr. Dre. The original song was on Thy Kingdom Come.....ENJOY!!!

The album, Guilty’s sophomore release, has been in development since July of last year, when to duo released “Coroner’s Music” .

Although Madlib has previously rhymed on similar projects such as Madvillainy with MF DOOM and Champion Sound with J Dilla, there are no reports if the famed Yesterday’s New Quintet/Quasimoto producer will be touching the microphone on OJ.

The two perviously worked together on Guilty’s warmly-received 2008 debut, Ode To The Ghetto.

OL SCHOOL THURS (Really WEDS) Video---HOUSE of PAIN

Sorry for updating on time...(My Computer has been giving me PROBLEMS!!!)...I thought since i will be attending the HOUSE of PAIN Reunion Concert this FRiday I'd give you there videos...After a brief unsuccessful solo career, Everlast teamed up with DJ Lethal and high school friend Danny Boy to form House of Pain (a name taken from H.G. Wells' The Island of Dr. Moreau). The group was signed to Tommy Boy Records, and their self-titled debut album (1992) went multi-platinum, spawning the successful DJ Muggs produced single "Jump Around". This song was also remixed twice by Pete Rock, one version featuring a verse from him and one without. The album also featured Cypress Hill member, B-Real, on the song "Put Your Head Out".

Fashioning themselves as rowdy Irish-American hooligans (Lethal is actually of Latvian heritage), they toured with various rap and alternative-rock bands after their breakthrough. They participated together with Helmet, along with several other rap acts, on the influential 1993 rock-rap collaborative Judgment Night movie soundtrack. Their follow-up album, 1994's Same As It Ever Was, went gold despite minimal airplay and no major hits. The first single, "On Point," is noted for taking a swipe at another American rapper with a strong Irish heritage, "Marky Mark" (Mark Wahlberg) ("Calvin Klein's no friend of mine/So I don't like Marky"). Like Cypress Hill, who, with House of Pain, were a part of the loosely-affiliated Soul Assassins posse, they found urban radio airplay an increasingly closed path, which affected album sales....There 3rd album had mediocher sales and was not produced by any SOUL ASSASSIN Producers...ENJOY!!

OL SCHOOL WEDS. Video---DIGITAL UNDERGROUND

Sex Packets, the group's debut album, was released in the spring of 1990 following the success of its two leadoff singles. First came "Doowutchyalike," a moderate club hit, followed by the even more outrageous mega-hit "The Humpty Dance," a humorous dance number that climbed all the way to #11 on the pop charts, #7 on the R&B charts, and #1 on the Billboard Rap Singles chart. It was rapped by Shock G's flamboyant alter ego Humpty Hump, and featured a hypnotically-pulsating bassline, flirty samples, and a particularly potent drumtrack that was sought after by so many different artists & producers that it quickly became the most sampled hip hop recording, with well over 50 confirmed usages in other songs. Sex Packets delivered on the promise of its singles too, with an abundance of P-Funk samples, jazzy interludes, and an innovative amalgam of samples and live instrumentation, earning it positive reviews and platinum sales. In addition, it served as a concept album, devoting roughly a third of its lyrical content to the topic of "G.S.R.A." (Genetic Suppression Relief Antidotes), a pharmaceutical substance that's produced in the form of a large glowing pill (about the size of a quarter), which comes in a condom-sized package, and is developed by the government to provide its intended users with a satisfying sexual experience in situations where the quest-for/attainment-of such experiences would be counterproductive to the mission at hand. They came out with another 4 albums but the success wasn't of that of there 1st album....ENJOY!

MADLIB's...Young Jazz Rebels: Slave Riot

Young Jazz Rebels is a Madlib jazz group from the Yesterdays Universe collective. The album Slave Riot, their debut, is an avant-garde free jazz record, a style Madlib has been developing with Young Jazz Rebels since their debut on 2006's Chrome Children compilation with the track “Nino's Deed.”

An alternate take of “Nino's Deed” is included on Slave Riot, with 17 others – sounds ranging from heavy rhythm (“The Legends of Mankind”) to electro-jazz fusion (“Forces Unseen”, “Black Freedom”) to the sparse and experimental heard in the 2-part album centerpiece, “Slaved Riot”.

Inspired primarily by independent and experimental jazz vinyl from the late 60s, 70s and 80s, Slave Riot begins and ends with audible vinyl static, and it's packaged uniform with Madlib's other new jazz release, Miles Away: CD with heavy-boarded mini-gatefold LP-style package with a “tip-on” gatefold photo and inner sleeve. The double LP is printed with a duo-tone black panther on front & back.
