OL SCHOOL WEDS. Video---Capone n' Noreaga
In 1996 the duo signed with Penalty Records; it was also awarded The Source magazine's Unsigned Hype column. In 1996, before the group’s debut album was completed, Capone was imprisoned for a parole violation, and Noreaga finished the debut album, The War Report, with the help of various other QB/NY hip-hop acts. The album was met with critical and commercial acclaim. It saw the group partake in the conflict between Death Row Records and Bad Boy Entertainment, making it a more widespread East Coast/West Coast rivalry, responding to Tha Dogg Pound's single "New York, New York" with its own "L.A., L.A."
In 1999, the group released its sophomore effort, The Reunion, on Tommy Boy Records. Similarly star-studded, the album went platinum, but suffered from mixed reviews...
In 2006, NORE brought up the possibility of a Capone-n-Noreaga reunion and a new album. CNN released Channel 10 on March 17, 2009, taking the name from a song off The War Report...In recent interviews, both Capone and NORE have spoken of an upcoming album similar to The War Report, titled Report the War, where they would reverse each individual track, such as "Money Bloody" opposed to "Bloody Money." It is speculated this album will be released sometime after both their new solo albums are released....Enjoy!!

HAZE x Stussy x Pro-Keds..
A legend in his own right, Eric Haze have come a long way since his days of graffiti during the 80’s and he has been at the forefront of design and art for over 30 years. His roots firmly grounded on hip hop and other street cultures Haze has also made an impact as a graphic designer creating logos and album covers for hip hop greats such as Beastie Boys or LL Cool J to name a few.
This collaboration with Stussy is fitting as both Shawn Stussy and Eric Haze have paved the way for many of the current brands and that without their existence our current culture may not be what it is today. The following items will be all ready for 2010 Spring release that is head lined by a triple brand Stussy x Haze x Pro Keds sneaker that will come in three distinct colors and sharing the same basic design.
Also included in the collection are staple hoodies, varsity jackets, t-shirts, shirts and trunks that display the trademark Haze designs and colors on quality Stussy cuts. To commemorate the release Stussy Harajuku chapter will hold an exclusive live painting and installations as well as an exhibition in US as well. Keep your eyes open as details will be released soon

Adidas x Star Wars Collection...Singapore Campaign
The Death Star is no longer Darth Vader’s sole approach to galactic domination– the Force’s fallen hero takes on a more personal approach when invading Earth and stormed through cities with his army of Stormtroopers. A footage of the ranks marching in file through Singapore’s busiest shopping district, Orchard Road, has been captured and release onto the web. Fret not, this really isn’t Lord Vader unleashing his wrath onto the international hub of a Southeast Asian island, but is a part of a global marketing campaign effort put forth by adidas Originals by its upcoming release of adidas Originals x Star Wars collection. While the collection is not dropping until January 2010, Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers have been seen carrying adidas Originals bags and flipping through merchandise at a local adidas Originals store, discussing kicks and tees amongst themselves in a galactic fervor. Check out the campaign video, and don’t get too shocked if you do spot Darth Vader prowling through the streets of your city, or promptly taking that pair of Nizza Hi you are holding out of your hands at the adidas store. Stay tuned for more campaign news and videos, meanwhile, check out the Spring/Summer 2010 Star Wars collection again while awaiting the Force to be hitting stores near you...

DJ Premier (GANGSTARR Foundation) x Nike AF1's..
Making up 50 percent of Gang Starr, DJ Premier is amongst the biggest of names in East Coast hip-hop, having worked alongside many legends, including Notorious B.I.G., Grand Master Flash, Jay-Z, plus a whole load more. Premier’s latest escapades see him collaborate with Nike on this subtle Air Force 1 colourway. Orange lacing, tongue tag, contrast stitching and insole sits quietly alongside a white swoosh and all-black-everything-else. With subtle detailing near the heel and toebox and ‘Premier’ on the lace-jewell; the more you inspect this shoe, the more you find. With matching material for the top of the heel and side panels, the sneaker has all the markings of a successful collaboration which should appeal beyond the hip-hop scene. These joints will be released on Jan. 9th...@House of Hoops (North Riverside)...I'm Definitly getting these..I'm proably going to record some footage for my blog...So be on the Lookout!

OL SCHOOL WEDS. Video---Slick Rick
Slick Rick moved with his family to The Bronx in 1975 where he met Dana Dane, later forming a hip hop duo as Kangol Crew. Rick's characteristic eyepatch was acquired after being blinded in the right eye by broken glass as an infant. He is best known for a series of rap recordings during the 1980s, including "Hey Young World", "Children's Story" and "La Di Da Di", B-side of Doug E. Fresh single "The Show" (1985). Once he gained a degree of wealth, he earned a reputation for wearing an eyepatch over his right eye, an enormous amount of gold and diamond jewelry, including many large necklaces with giant pendants, bracelets, huge rings on each finger, and a gold tooth.
In 1990, Slick Rick shot a bystander and his cousin whom he had hired as a bodyguard and who later admitted to having Walters shot outside a club. Slick Rick was indicted on two counts of attempted murder and pleaded guilty to all charges which also included assault, use of a firearm, and criminal possession of a weapon. Russell Simmons, head of Def Jam records, bailed him out and Rick quickly recorded The Ruler's Back before spending five years in prison, two for the second degree attempted murder charges he received for that shooting, and three while hassling with Immigrations Services over his residency in the US. In the documentary film, The Show, Russell Simmons interviews Rick while he was a prisoner on Rikers Island.
A third album Behind Bars was released while still in prison, and it was released to lukewarm sales and reviews. Released from prison in 1996, he remained with Def Jam and on May 25, 1999 released a fourth album, entitled The Art of Storytelling, generally considered the authentic follow up to his 1988 debut. Storytelling was also an artistically successful comeback that paired him with MCs like Nas, OutKast, Raekwon, and Snoop Dogg, among others.
On October 6, 2008, Rick was honored on the VH1 Hip Hop Honors show....Enjoy!!

OL SCHOOL WEDS Video---Stop the Violence
The Stop the Violence Movement was formed by rapper KRS-One in 1988/1989 in response to violence in the hip hop and black communities.
During a concert by Boogie Down Productions and Public Enemy a young fan was killed in a fight. Coming soon after the shooting death of his friend and fellow BDP member Scott La Rock, KRS-One was galvanized into action and formed the Stop the Violence Movement. Composed of some of the biggest stars in contemporary East Coast hip hop, the movement released a single, "Self Destruction", in 1989, with all proceeds going to the National Urban League.[1] A music video was created, and a VHS cassette entitled Overcoming Self-Destruction - The Making of the Self-Destruction Video was also released.
"Self-Destruction" was produced by KRS-One and D-Nice of Boogie Down Productions

OL SCHOOL WEDS. Video---Digable Planets
Digable Planets' fusion of jazz and hip hop received excellent reviews and solid sales with the release of its debut album, Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space), in 1993, which was certified gold by the RIAA. The album's lead single, "Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)," in 1994 became a crossover hit, peaking at #15 on Billboard magazine's singles chart, earning gold certification by the RIAA, and winning the Grammy award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.
Its second album, Blowout Comb, was released in 1994 (see 1994 in music). A distinct departure from the sound that initially made them a success, many of the white fans they had earned felt alienated by the albums pro-black, militant slant, resulting in disappointing sales. The trio soon broke up due to creative differences, as well as the deaths of both of Ladybug's parents due to unrelated illnesses. However, a retrospective album Beyond the Spectrum: The Creamy Spy Chronicles was released in 2005, which included previously unreleased recordings....Enjoy!!!

DJ AM x Nike DUNK Hi...
Although there was some uncertainty regarding an actual release of his project with Nike, DJ AM’s Dunk Hi is now seen in its entirety, although unfortunately it comes after the famed DJ’s tragic and untimely passing. The shoes themselves remain quite simple, playing off a theme of patent leather and premium leather along with 3M perforated heel detailing amongst a black/red/grey color scheme. Rounding off the design is a tribute DJ AM logo placed on the tongue. Rumors have it that there should be another sneaker from the set due to drop although no further information has been released. For those interested, they are now available through Korean retailer Kasina, with a US release sure to come...

Air Jordan Spizike---Black/Cement Grey
In anticipation of what looks to be one of the most popular versions of the Air Jordan Spiz’ike sneaker, we have some amazing detailed images to increase the interest. This model is completely devoted to Jordan staples–a black upper with cement gray lace tabs, a cement and black midsole, fire red outsole accents and lacelocks, and even a blue Jumpman on the tongue tab. Because this sneaker honors MJ and Spike Lee, the lining has some references to text from the famed Mars Blackmon commercials that features Spike Lee as the character that made his debut in She’s Gotta Have it. The heel tab, featuring Mars’ likeness and the logo for Lee’s film production company, has a slight blue accent as well to compliment the tongue tab..
Air Jordan Winterized Spizike Boot...
The latest release from Jordan Brand consists of its Winterized Spizike Boot, a play off the now popular Spizike fusion sneakers. The shoes are remixed for the Winter season with a rugged, outdoors aesthetic. This new colorway pairs a Flint Grey upper with Cherrywood highlights and Nightshade accents amongst mostly leather and nubuck construction. Available now through Gettry as well as other Jordan retailers worldwide.
The NorthFace GTX Climb Light Insulation Jacket
A new exclusive to The North Face Omotesando Hills location features the following GTX Climb Light Insulation Jacket. The checkered pattern of the jacket is an obvious example of a more fashion forward offering from The North Face who’s Japanese presence has often taken a different and at times more lifestyle approach. The jacket includes a GORE-TEX Performance shell with waterproof zippers and large concealed diagonal pockets. The North Face logo is visible on the chest and back shoulder as always. Available now with a suggested retail price of ¥52,500 JPY (approximately $593 USD).
OL SCHOOL WEDS Video---DEF JEF
DEF JEF debut album was 1989's Just a Poet With a Soul, which won critical acclaim for sociopolitical lyrics and original beats. He was unable to live up to the expectations for his second album, however, and Soul Food, was a critical and commercial failure.
Additionally, he was a member of the West Coast Rap All-Stars, a collaboration of West Coast-based hip hop artists who released the anti-violence single We're All in the Same Gang in 1990.
Def Jef moved into production, working with Nas, Snoop Doggy Dogg, and Tupac Shakur, among others, as well as appearing in films like Deep Cover in 1992 (see 1992 in film). He was featured on Shaquille O'Neal's 1993 top 40 single "(I Know I Got) Skillz". He produced the theme song for the Disney Sitcom "That's So Raven" in 2002 and remixed Kimberley Locke's "Supawoman" in 2005.
Def Jef is currently working with Krayzie Bone and Thugline Records....ENJOY!
