Concepts gives us a closer look into the retailer’s latest collaborative footwear release, the New Balance 999 by Concepts. Inspired by the stately heritage of the Massachusetts sailing community, Concepts wanted to create an understated and wearable shoe for any highly discerning sneaker consumer. The primary colors of the collaboration have been inspired by many sea faring signposts which explicitly bears its mark in the semaphore pattern grid used in the footbed while gray and khaki accents ground the shoe. The launch of the New Balance 999 on April 16 at Concepts in Cambridge, MA will be accompanied by a host of products including: a premium sail polo, 5-panel duck brimmed cap, artisan sail-lace tee, semaphore tote bag, signature Rayban Wayfarers, bucket hat, monkey fist key chain and a rope bracelet handmade in Nantucket exclusively for Concepts.
