OL SCHOOL THURS (Really WEDS) Video---HOUSE of PAIN

Sorry for updating on time...(My Computer has been giving me PROBLEMS!!!)...I thought since i will be attending the HOUSE of PAIN Reunion Concert this FRiday I'd give you there videos...After a brief unsuccessful solo career, Everlast teamed up with DJ Lethal and high school friend Danny Boy to form House of Pain (a name taken from H.G. Wells' The Island of Dr. Moreau). The group was signed to Tommy Boy Records, and their self-titled debut album (1992) went multi-platinum, spawning the successful DJ Muggs produced single "Jump Around". This song was also remixed twice by Pete Rock, one version featuring a verse from him and one without. The album also featured Cypress Hill member, B-Real, on the song "Put Your Head Out".

Fashioning themselves as rowdy Irish-American hooligans (Lethal is actually of Latvian heritage), they toured with various rap and alternative-rock bands after their breakthrough. They participated together with Helmet, along with several other rap acts, on the influential 1993 rock-rap collaborative Judgment Night movie soundtrack. Their follow-up album, 1994's Same As It Ever Was, went gold despite minimal airplay and no major hits. The first single, "On Point," is noted for taking a swipe at another American rapper with a strong Irish heritage, "Marky Mark" (Mark Wahlberg) ("Calvin Klein's no friend of mine/So I don't like Marky"). Like Cypress Hill, who, with House of Pain, were a part of the loosely-affiliated Soul Assassins posse, they found urban radio airplay an increasingly closed path, which affected album sales....There 3rd album had mediocher sales and was not produced by any SOUL ASSASSIN Producers...ENJOY!!

March 12th @the Congress...HOUSE OF PAIN Reunion

St. Paddy's day weekend just got real serious.

The iconic 90’s hip hop group HOUSE OF PAIN comes to Chicago on the FRIDAY MARCH 12th for a pre-St. Patrick’s Day celebration! The almighty Wu is also represented as GZA opens up along with Chicago’s own Mass Hysteria, ADaD and The Comeups! HOUSE OF PAIN defined hip hop at its most raw and raucous form with their smash hit “Jump Around” co-produced by DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill. The songs distinctive, incessant beat merges a deep bass groove with drum loops and Public Enemy-styled sirens. House of Pain’s latest project LA COKA NOSTRA will also perform which pairs the House of Pain crew with new members Ill Bill and Slaine. Combine all this with St. Patrick’s Day festivities and the nights sure to be a party of rapturous proportions!

As an insanely good bonus GZA the Genius will bless the Chicago stage with rhymes like razor-sharp swords of liquid. As one of the founding members of the colossal Wu Tang clan, GZA has established himself as an extraordinary solo artist as well with classic albums like Liquid Swords and Beneath the Surface.
