Now on parole after serving twelve years in prison, Chi-Ali has makes his return to the recording booth on the remix to Skyzoo’s “Jansport Strings.” The original version detailed how witnessing the then teenaged Ali’s video for “Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number” directed Skyzoo’s path toward becoming an emcee. Now the 36 -year-old (!!!), Native Tongues affiliate takes center stage and details his plans for the future after getting his long deferred freedom. Let’s hope Sky is just the first of many new artists to reach out to Ali, and that the former child star adjusts well to his new life on the outside.
